So this is a bronze by Paul Dubois 1880... it has the signature on the bronze... in addition its on a marble stand.... I am not sure if its the original thing....

some more images

It maybe a homage to Dubois but it's not his. Quality of the casting is poor. Sometimes referred to in the art world as ' after ' Paul Dubois, which means it's a reproduction.
The signature mark is also different.
Not worth the $300 in my opinion but if you like it...

The thing about a bronze is they make more than one and by several foundries !!
-
Reproduction piece. At most high end stores they would sell for $250 - $350.
Nice piece - always buy what YOU like - even if you intend to resale!
-
One thing to watch for on a bronze supposedly made in 19th century is that copyright symbol !! It didn`t come into common use till after 1909 and many art pieces were later than that !!
-
The styling on the figures looks more like 1960 than 1880. Definitely a case of "after."
I would say it's worth $100, maybe a bit more.

May be Helter Spelter.....and replace the S with a K...and you,ve got......and the price of scrap is rising all the time.....

You might say it's "coming down fast..."
But it's miles above you.
