Title: Interesting Made in Japan Saucer with Handle
Post by: mygrandmasattic on February 12, 2013, 12:51:48 AM
Hi there!  We have a few items in the shop that we need some help finding information on.  We have googled the heck out of these and have come up dry - sometimes I have no idea what to even search for so ANY help is appreciated!  We will list these in 4 seperate posts just to keep the responses organized.  Thank you ahead of time for the help!

Last we have an old piece of china.  It is unlike anything i've had come into the shop - it appears to be a biscuit holder of sorts (a saucer with a finger hole handle).  I have no idea what these are called so it was very hard to research.  I'm sure somebody on here will have an idea on what the name of this is.  It is stamped made in Japan on the bottom side.  Help with the age and value would be appreciated!

Serving piece for lemons!  Search vintage lemon server!

But were used also for mints/nuts when tea time didn't keep popular.

I agree, lemon dish for lemon wedges or slices with tea.  I usually see them made by Noritake.  GG

Does anybody know the age based on the made in Japan mark?  I've seen other pieces with the same style mark and was curious on the date of manufacture.

Thanks!

Inter war period. 1920's / 30's. Can be seen on some 50's items.

Pattern and style here suggest inter war period though.
