Hi, I have owned this table for approximately 20 years and have been unsuccessful in finding any information about it... except it could "possibly" be from India (Due to the Star Design under glass)
Wood Table with Mother of Pearl Inlaid under Glass
Copper or Brass
Colors are Cream Green Gold Silver
Measurements are Top: 2' X 2' Height: 27"
Table is taller than a traditional end table

Pic of table as a whole would be helpful...from what little i can see..the use of angle iron for what i must assume is the top..taken from below is very un.India

Yes, we need better photos!

Where is Mother of Pearl inlay ??
-
when you add more pics...don,t delete the previous one,s...because others will come on wanting to see pics of the underside...and then you won,t know if you are coming or going...this looks French to me...may have been a wash stand...in the past...

Has someone tried to sponge paint the top ?? Have never seen anything from India in that style !! Back in 70`s and 80`s many pieces had that star design !! Was popular here as well !! Its not very old and my guess is that it is from that period !! Could be French but is more likely just an occassional table or end table !! Have seen similar tables from that period that were changable within a room !! Put two together for coffee table or at the ends of sofa for lamp tables ect !! The point was that you didn`t have to buy new furniture every time you wanted to change the look in a room !!

The table hasn't been altered in any way since I have owned it. I received it from an Estate along with items from the 30s and 40s most of them were from Occupied Japan and Germany. You could be correct about the 70s period though since the original owner passed in 1980.

Are there any markings under the table. It could be written or a tag.
-
I have looked several times for any kind of writing or markings and unable to locate any. Also there are no signs of a sticker or tags ever being attached anywhere.
-
I have seen a few of these over the years...they are either made with stone or woods.
I do not see any mother of pearl from your pictures and would like a better picture for the area that you believe to be mother of pearl.

I didn`t either KC !! And I have never seen a top like that !! Just looking at the pic,, it looks like a poor update attempt !! Have no idea what its even made of !! Looks like metallic reflective paint on the lighter part of the star !! Paints were frequently used as well as decals of this type star !!

from the pictures that,s been deleted you could see the underside and it was mad of angle iron...and the steel tubular legs...there was a brass effect cross over under the table with slotted round head screws...
