Title: royal haeger
Post by: sugarcube5419 on February 28, 2013, 02:02:39 PM
a purchase from my local thrift store, with all the information I have you would think I need no help on it but I do.  I paid 3.63  for it and I can;t find one to compare it to.  Pottery and the colors are truly orange and green.

thanks for your info

maybe after it was made...they had a rethink..and deleted it from their catalogue....then donated all they had to thrift shops... ;D

Well,,, when I was reading this post the pics had not come up yet !! I thought Oh Well,, Wullie doesn`t like much that we do so it can`t be that ugly !!  But,,,,I was wrong !!  What were they thinking when they made that one ???  Its one saving grace is that in some areas,, the more odd they are the more money they are worth !!
Can you or did you post the mark ?? Might track it down with that !!

hi mart,

Yes, I agree it could win the "razzie" award for ugly pottery but somebody got paid to make it!

I'll repost the pic of the bottom mart, maybe all pics didn't download for you--

I couldn't find another one! They must have broke the mold,  ;D. The one I found similar was $325. I'll keep searching.

thanks again greenacres,

do you think this is from the same?  Also when you say broke the mold, I never really understood that would you explain, (other than they no longer make them) not that dense!

When a company makes a Pot, or ornament...for a particular year...after the run is over they break the mould..that way it can never be reproduced...thus ensuring some value...as for G,acres find, and yours having something in common..they have.....they are both Pot Ugly.... ;D

yep i know its an ugly pot....but the more I say it at least its not a cookie cutter to the rest.

So since I can't find the information written right on its bottom, is writing to royal haeger my next and probably only way to find its story?

yes do that...you have very little to lose.....and maybe a lot to gain....but don,t be too disappointed if you don,t get a reply from them....as they may not want to be reminded that...they did make this.... ;D

OMG!!  :o The artist must have used Wullie's knuckles as inspiration (or to make the 'dents')   ;D

Honestly......I don't think I've seen so much butt ugly 'art'  until going through pictures of Haeger pieces. That Brastoff might be a line to follow. I see a lot of his work has 'sascha' written somewhere on the pieces themselves. The shot below is another example of his work (gaaggggg!)

What are you doing up at this hour anyway? Don't you have a full day (week, month) of work awaiting you in the morning??
