Title: Pitcher and Glass set

I'm hoping to get more information on this set. Anything on what it is and the value would be greatly appreciated.

The only clue I have is a card in the bottom of the pitcher, it looks like brushwork, that says "Wedding Gift to Mamie Stone Apr. 12, 1894."

The wheat pattern appears to be tiny balls of glass fused together on the outside of the glass.  The base kinda looks like silver but I can't find a mark on it anywhere.

Gorgeous piece!!!

Made in the same style as mechanical water pitcher  and mechanical coffee sets.  I can say I have never seen this type of glassware insert from the late 1800's.  These sets typically had silverplate cups/pitchers.

It is a water set and it would be silver most likely !! I haven`t seen one that wasn`t silver !! Have seen this glass, can`t remember the name !! Be back in a minute !!

Have to look a while to jog the brainpan into action !!  Still not entirely sure but I think its Mount Washington glass !!  Possibly peachblow with raised enamel design !!  Its been a while since I have looked for this type !!  Have seen a few pieces locally !!

That's exactly the method used. I believe the decoration technique is referred to as "Coralene".

Your piece is beautiful and it has a Coralene pattern Nice one Rauville!!  This is called sheaves of wheat and if not a repo is made by Mount Washington Good one Mart but not peachblow. Many repo examples have appeared in the market to tell if your piece is real carefully apply pressure with your thumb to glass beading if it flakes off easily it is a repo, Real Mount Washington Coralene beading is fired onto the glass and will not flake easily with applied pressure. I believe it is not a repo!! Mount Washington merged with Pairpoint in 1894 the date on your card and Quadruple - plated wares and assorted glass types from this union became highly respected.  Quadruple - plated items were Gold and silver plated, also made were pewter and German silver. If in mint condition I would place a value of over $2,000.00   :D

I knew you would know Wendy !!  What is the difference in Coralene and Opalene ??  I know Mount Washington made both !!

Thanks everyone for the great information.  I''m pretty sure this is not repro since I remember it being in my grandparents house in the 60's.  I wouldn't consider it mint but close, few scuff marks on the base which might clean up but I wouldn't tackle that myself.

Are there any marks on the metal piece?

I have seen these mostly made of silver plate...but have also seen them made of white metal and aluminum.
