Bowl bought for $3 sells for more than $2 million at NY auction
A New York family scored a huge payday when a small bowl, which they bought at a garage sale for $3, turned out to be a 1,000-year old Chinese piece that sold for $2.2 million at Sotheby’s yesterday.

Bigwull, this one is beautifully ornate on the inside! Definitely for show! However, these were usually for royalty back in the time this was made!

well it does,nt ring my bell, nor Avril,s for that matter,..she,s more enthralled with a Pitcher & Bowl, with matching porcelain candlesticks that she got in a charity shop..for £4...i,ll post pic tomorrow....

I agree. I love my treasures that I find in roadsides, garage sales, estate sales, thrift and second hands! The hunt is much of the value!! :)
