It's not sterling, so you won't find the top marks on silver marks sites.  They are pseudo hallmarks.  The mark 1849 isn't a date, it's a model or shape number.  GG

Na,.then you might end up with 2 versions of the truth,...i,ve got a friend..who,is a bricklayer, one day whilst we were on a job, the building inspector came along...just as he was measuring the wall, ..Tam...the brickie...got a piece of grit in his left eye...he promptly took it out..."it was made of glass"...and proceeded to wash it in the water butt,...The building inspector saw this ..and exclaimed..."now i,ve seen it all"..a one eyed bricklayer,..then he said to Tam,.."how do you manage with just one eye"...y,know making sure the wall,s level, and straight,...and plumb,...Tam said to the inspector..."this eye..whilst pointing to his good eye...never lies...it always tells the truth,...but if i had 2 eye,s...i,d get a different version of the truth....simples...
