Hello!
I have recently bought this bronze/nacre (?) bracelet at a local antiques shop. It wasn't too expensive, only about $10 (I bought it in Litas, since I live in Lithuania). It might be a copy, but the bronze looks quite old, and it kind of reminds me of art nouveau style.
I'd be very grateful if anyone could help me with the age of the bracelet, and how much it could really be worth.

Beautiful piece!
It is really hard to tell age...because they can chemically age a piece so well these days.
Is that inlaid with Mother of Pearl?

Is it marked inside ?? I would seriously doubt that an antique shop would sell it for that amount if they didn`t know what it was !! It does have a Nouveau look but with some of todays items,, that doesn`t mean much !! China can do amazing things with jewelry !!

Nooooooooo!!...Abalone shell, come,s from a similar creature...but its not called mother of pearl.
Known in some circles as the "sea ear," the abalone is a t that grows predominantly in the waters in and around California. There are nine types of abalone in North America, each somewhat different in size and appearance

No, it isn't marked anywhere.
It feels pretty heavy, too. I doubt the guy from the shop really knows what he's selling, though. Everything in the shop was rather cheap. Books, candlesticks... I own some myself, they're pretty expensive here.

Maybe you got a good one then !! But since it is very generic and without some way of determining its origin or age it is sadly just a pretty bracelet !! The rope border makes me think pretty new as in after 1950 !!

There are only a few organisms that can create Mother of Pearl, one being oysters and the other abalones.
