We found this at a local thrift shop. Anyone have any idea what it is? It has a tiny hook on the top, so it is obviously for hanging something. I am assuming that may be something with glass because of the maroon velour circle. I will post a side pic too. And it is HEAVY. It reminds me of the older Italian frames..but this is not a frame.

yup!!..its true what they say....old age does not come alone.......the watches were held there, but these gents did,nt sleep wi their waistcoats on.... ;D

I kinda fibbed with that picture cause it was close as I could get for showing how my father wore his pocketwatch when he worked for the C&C and then the B&O Railroad and it was mandatory that he have a "once-per-year" certified accurate pocket watch on his person whenever he was on-the-job working.
Of course he carried it all the time when he was up n' about and I don't recall him ever having one of those "hanger-up" thingies for when he was changing clothes or sleeping.

I think this is a more modern invention for displaying antique pocket watches !!
