Title: Reproduction Hunt Scene
Post by: debodun on April 20, 2013, 03:44:53 PM
Entitled "Hare and French Partridges" (found out in researching) and signed "Helena Maguire", in 17x25" wooden frame, no glass. It's been out in the Florida room for decades - probably an auction acquisition of my parents in the 1970s. I advertised it for $25 and no "nibbles". Is that too much or not enough?

many people prefer pictures of live hares & partridges...maybe thats why no nibbles...why don,t you target hunters..

Is it in relief ? Looks weird.

Original prints are about 100 years old.

Yes, it has a slight raised texture to the picture.

That is called a game swag. It was a popular motif in the mid to late 1800's especially on furniture. That is all I have to say. You guys figure out the rest.

Yeah, some fishing ones are still quite popular but otherwise they are difficult to sell
