I have came to acquire this beautiful box and I would like to know a little about it. The box is relatively large for being sterling silver (about 10" x 6.7" x 2.75" roughly) and the net weight is 955 grams (2 lbs 1.7 oz) with the inner wood lining removed. The only markings on the box is underneath and it says "made in Siam" which apparently is Thailand.
I would like to know if anyone could guess a rough estimate of the age and value. Your help is greatly appreciated. :)

Siam became Thailand in 1939. There was also a time period from 1945-1949 that it was called Siam again. The country now know as Thailand Its most likely..mid to late Victorian, which is mid to late 1800,s, it is most likely a cigarette box, value from £475.upwards...
