Title: Army billed hat worn by Hubert H. Humphry
Post by: mojadite on May 04, 2013, 10:40:47 PM
[/email]I bought the hat at a thrift store several years ago. In the lining of the hat is part of a newspaper article about Hubert H Humphrey. The hat has HHH above the bill, and army gold seal on sides of hat. How do I verify if it is real. Thank you

Could we see it? It would have to be a honorary hat given to him, since he was never in the armed forces. If that's the case there may be some historical evidence of him accepting it.

(Several years ago, I purchased some items that came from his Aunt in the town where HHH was born.
Among them was Hubert's little wooden rocking chair. I found out that most people didn't care who had sat in the chair.)

Lesser political figures,,and a few major ones,,are not particularly popular in the collectable field !!

Isn't there a Hubert Humphrey Library in Minnesota? They might be interested. I don't have time to search for a link right now.
