Hi Everyone,
I've tried to narrow down the designer(s) of these, but I'm not having any luck. I know very little about antique lamps, so I'm hoping one of you may be able to identify these.
Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Apparently the second picture didn't upload. Sorry about that! Here's the other lamp.
-
Are there any marks on the base / stem, particularly the second lamp ?
Certainly eyecatching. Loetz style shade. There are similar lamps making a few hundred to a couple of thousand and yet none of them look particularly old.

well done Ip man...on that 2nd lamp.....i think we can safely say...that one has been nailed tae the Wa...
-
Unfortunately I can't find any imprint or marking on the stem of the lamp, but thank you for sending me a link to the Loetz lamps. They do look really similar, so this looks like an excellent place to start!

Loetz is the glass but i'm unaware of their extensive lamp shade production ;D
Iridescent / Opalescent glass like that has been copied
-
Awesome, thanks for the heads up...needless to say trying to track down the origin of these lamps is a little overwhelming, with so much information available online, but hopefully I can eventually figure out the source.
-
Lamp and shade usually were not made by the same factory/company !! Look for a foundry mark on the bronze,, often they are unmarked but you might get lucky !!

Sadly, I'm getting that "copy feeling" again...

I suggest you look to China....for possible foundry....they are the biggest producers of Repo.Tiffany lamps...and about every other metal based lamps on the planet....they buy most of the worlds scrap metal....then sell it back to the world in many different guises....

Wow, this is all really interesting since the owner of these lamps was asking $3,000 for just one! You've all been extremely helpful, and I'm passing this info onto my friend ASAP.

Yes, but some very similar are still fetching a few hundred dollars.
It has that look of something trying to be Deco but not getting it right - this often means Chinese / Asian in origin. I wouldn't have that shade on that base.
-
A few hundred for lamps such as these merely confirms their recent origin. Original lamps that are this elaborated should be going for many thousands.
Agree on the inept Deco feel.
-
In regard to that first lamp: I don't believe I've ever seen a base notched and apparently designed around a "push button" switch like that.

Can you tell us how your friend came by these lamps ?? Why would they be wanting to sell them ??

Somehow I don,t think its the friend that has them...if you read the post..where its says the owner is looking for $3000...and as for why they are for sale...i would have thought that was obvious...people need money,....If i,d kept everything that I,ve ever had,in the past 40 odd years...I,d need a house 10 times larger than this one,....because as it is, there,s still one room here that we can,t use as its full of..Oh, we,d, better keep that...

There is another one on the thumbnails on the right,, little different style !! These have to be repro`s !!
-
It i really difficult from the pictures but my feeling is with what the others said. I have seen Loetz and actually owned one and it was an expanded blue iridescent piece, unlike either of these. It was made in other colors but I never saw one that resembled these. Loetz is very often unsigned though. Mine was not signed. Better pictures would help a lot.

Unfortunately getting "repro" shouted at me also.
But, that is a good thing is you are a buyer and wanting one and ti doesn't have to be an original!
