Be easy on me, this is my very first piece of Haviland I've bought. My mom has this type and said to pick it up cheap if I see it. I've been researching this piece and have found out the following:
- Made by Haviland & Co. in France of course
- Oval covered vegetable serving bowl
- Made out of Porcelain
- It is a "Schleiger" 42
- Made in 1930 I believe due to the two maker marks.
- Pattern I believe is a "Blank with blue lilly & green leaves"
- It is 10 1/2" long handle to handle
- It is 2 5/8" tall w/o lid
- It is 4 3/4 tall to top of lid (handle)
Some things I don't know:
- The sub-letter of the 42. I can't find it in any color
- What the number 15584 means
- What the "3" means on the bottom of the bowl
- Value.

Enjoy it. They do not sell at all where I live. Covered vegetable dishes are not desirable around here and I do not know why. I have also tried to sell them on Ebay with little luck unless they were knock outs like great flow blue or highly decorative chintz. Sorry to be a negative Nellie but that is the experience I have had even with Haviland from that era. If someone is trying to complete a set you might get lucky and get 20.00 to 30.00 for it.

Well... I've looked at hundreds of patterns and it would seem blue is difficult to find. None on Ebay or Google... I know there are thousands of patterns so maybe I'll get lucky with someone and charge an arm and a leg lol ;D

I agree with Frogpatch. :( I have tried to sell them before too and nothing. I eventually donated mine. It is beautiful and elegant so please enjoy it! :)
