I was just wondering if anybody here recognizes this Griffin? I have seen it in a competition but I think it may be plagiarized.

The link does not work for me.
I have posted another link try that one :)

1st link works...no sign of the 2nd....
-
Is it a button ?
-
No...its a griffin...or .."gryphon" as we know it.....
-
I know that - what's the object ?
-
looks like it could be a button... ::)

I know that - what's the object ?
The object is meant to be a shield that somebody entered into a design competition but im sure its been stolen from somewhere, I just need to find an image of it to prove it. Has anyone seen this exact design anywhere else, if so could they please post a link to that image?

" Origin of this object " And then we're shown a gilt looking thing with a griffin / gryphon on it.
You can be a right sarcy sod Wull. No wonder new posters get the hump on.
Griffins have been used for hundreds of years on thousands of things. Livery company buttons, family crests.
You want to check them all to see if it's been used before ?
I've better things to do as most answers we give on here are met with silence from the original poster.

I,m just a little bit misunderstood..at times......just like you..... ;D

In other words, the poster is wanting to know if the design is original or copied?
I believe the art world has a search engine for things like that....just not sure where you would find it.
Been used for centuries...too vast unless someone would automatically know it. Also, just like in the cookbook/recipe world (just change 2 ingredients/quantity amounts and instruction slightly and it is considered a "new" recipe) just painting it with minute tweaks makes it new and uncopied unless designated in the competition!!!!
Best of luck! You might want to look at Coat of Arms, Griffin (actually used with the name Griffin).

So we're looking at the design ? Someone has designed that but aged the gilding and he wants to know if the griffin has been copied ?
Anyway
