Hi All
I have spent ages trying to find who is the maker of this item and the age
I have been all over internet including google image's, millers online, etc etc but cannot find it anywhere
it has 7841 embossed on side and 37 on bottom - it is very deco in design but want to know more
Can you help ?

Hi sorry for late reply been away - can you elaborate more on Picasso piece (and not the car lol )
I am still very much struggling with this and cannot seem to tie this piece to anything
So any helpful experts out there please put me out of misery

I did not find anything like it !! I think Wullie was referring to the distorted way the piece is made as like Picasso !! But Picasso did do a few things,, not sure about this though !!
Wish we could help but without some way to figure which direction to look its darn near impossible !!

Nooooooooooo!!...was,nt me....that was G,acre....who thought it looked Picasso...ish.....m e i think it looks like something you,d get get as a booby prize at the carnival.....like, score 21..and win a teddy bear.....score 20 and you get lumbered with this.... :D

thanks for post - with the embossed numbered marking on side and the signature on bottom I get the deco feel to it, maybe wrong but cannot find anything online or in books on this piece
Some info I missed out on - last week a dealer offered me £30 for it when out on my antique stall at boot sale but wouldn't tell me about it which annoyed me but the fact offered me £30 made me wonder even further that's why its bugging hell out of me.

sorry its the little "37" on the bottom of feet my apologies more number than signature but hand done for sure

The 7841 is the style number of the piece,,which many commercially produced items have !! The number on the bottom could be either,,year made,,number of the painter because many were paid by piecework so each one the person painted would have their number on it so they would be paid accordingly,, or a third possibility,, if you flip the piece over is that it could be initials LE rather than 37 !! A remote possibility but ,,,, still would be the initials of the painter !!! Personally I think it a year made !!

A shot in the dark here.......did a 1/2 rotation and it almost resembles mountains. I've come across the Turtle Mountain pottery .....not it but uses the same 'M' in the shape of a mountain.
Wonder if there's a slight possibility that it's a maker's mark?

£30 for it....you should have bit his hand off....i,m thinking more along the lines of 30 bob....thats £1.50 in new money.....as for the £30 manny telling you what it is....well, it does,nt work that way.....the onus is on you to find ouit.if it is ..anything other than....a wotsit....its the same colour mind you....

Would be very late for Deco,, ending of period going into 40`s which is when most of this type were popular !! War, you know !! Many things were intended to make people smile and get their mind off world issues !!
Does that 7 on bottom have a cross mark like if European ??
