Title: 1936/7 English AVERY Beam Scale
Post by: Marcus Tiro on June 07, 2013, 05:14:30 PM
A friend of mine saved this from the skip whilst updating a UK chemist shop, He thought (correctly) that it'd be an item that I would appreciate due to the excellent build quality.

Bigger images and varied shots here (although my photography and camera aren't the best) -

Bit of info found on google for what looks to be the same model -

It did come with some stacking weights, although no sign of them atm. The photos aren't great but you may be able to see slight tarnishing/pitting on the chromed parts, otherwise the enamel and stainless are very good condition.

I see this is not a big money item and not really looking to sell - I love owning these solidly built beauties which are IMO a real tribute to proper British engineering!

Antique and vintage scales are very hot right now as decorator items !!  May not need the weights to bring decent money !!
