Came across this wicked chair and have researched quite bit and can find nothing like it. I have a few interested buyers and I really don't have a clue on it's history or the value. Anyone have any knowledge about this chair? Thanks in advance!

What have the buyers said ? I've got my opinion. Have any of them mentioned Sheraton Revival ?
-
This is the first response I've received. Just got the chair a few days ago. Please, tell me what you know. Thanks!!!
-
I would say Sheraton too by looking at it although I have seen this mother of pearl and inlay design before by an actual maker, herts ( not to be confused with the car rental or the new furniture hertz) I cannot seem to come up with anything in a search for you but I will keep looking

What are the actual wheels on the casters made of?
-
Thank you all so much for helping me with this. And, good eye! The wheels seem to be wood. I am so intrigued!

Without physically inspecting it (as casters are easily replaced and Sheraton-Style endured for soooo long), I'm going revival also. I'd guess between 1890's-1920's. Would love to meet this thing in person, although I am not the one to re-upholster anything ;)

I'm snapping a few more pics of the details. Maybe that will help. All I know is I can't find one like this anywhere on the net. I wasn't looking for another project, but this time I may not be able to help myself! I really like it!

Yes. More pics.
Initial reaction was Edwardian Sheraton Revival but there is something extra to it. I would normally expect to see that style of arm and the back is elaborate, even for Sheraton.
See the chair on the right here for something similar

Any idea of an estimate of it's value?
-
There's an art nouveau feel as well. I'd say 1900-1910.
Where are you located?
-
Yes !! Your location please !! This looks like an English made chair with those legs/feet !! Most are not that severe !!

Those are the old castiron casters that one doesn't often see anymore.
The wood wheels did not have a metal sleeve in them thus the hole would enlarge and the caster wheel would not roll.
And iffen it didn't roll it would soon become a flat sided wheel.
Thus they were easily replaced with newer designed casters.

Can`t see those pics !! Last ones do not show on my computer !!

What car in the background?

Third image down in one of the later posts. You can see the corner of a number plate.
-

I can see the corner of something but can glean no useful information from it.
Evidently your eyes are sharper than mine.

Here, see if this one of the caster does.
-
Yes, I can see it but they posted a couple more after those and its just blank for me !!

I think Reply #10 was a duplicate of #9 but without the pictures.
The AF server is still taking a long time to respond to an image upload ..... and if you don't wait ...... but get in a hurry and click refresh .... it will upload a 2nd post.
When it stalls ....... hit the "back" tab and then click the title line again.

yup....top right hand corner of the pic..car number plate...that is of no consequence to the chair...
-
I think that was pointed out because I said it looked like an English made chair !!

Which side of the pond are you on? Makes a difference in make/value!
