Title: More unknown glass
Post by: goodoldvintage on June 09, 2013, 02:12:42 PM
Again, I know what I know, but somethings are beyond me.
It has a seam, is Rose-colored, most of the sterling is gone, but I think she's pretty old. Victorian?
Thoughts??

Nothing maked on bottom, only mark is the "sterling" on the one side. Clueless.... >:(

A mere 2 1/2 inches tall by 3 inches in diameter. The "sterling" mark is barely legible on the bottom portion of the first and fourth photos.

Sorry not Victorian , Your piece was produced between 1920 -1950   Finding the glass maker would take many hours of research if it could ever be found at all. The beautiful silver design was done by the National Silver Deposit ware of NY in the  Grecian Urn decoration.  Many different glass companies pieces were decorated by National Silver Deposit ware many times the only way to find the glass maker is to see original advertising by said company.  Here's a Crystal Mayonnaise Bowl Set  in your pattern done by  National Silver Deposit ware http://www.rubylane.com/item/314806-Sd-GU-Mayo/Crystal-Mayonnaise-Bowl-Set-National

Thanks so much, wendy! Wish the silver wasn't completely trashed, guess it'll make a great supply-holder on my counter.  ;D
