You don,t know what you,re missing......but then seeing as how it takes you 4 days to get anyplace....it must be like going on holiday...everytime you go to the shops....the joys of the ...boonies..... ;D

hi ghopper...it was Miltenberg....its a beautiful little town....full of picture postcard buildings....and very friendly people....

Better half just spent last month in Mainz, Germany and sent me so many gorgeous pics of the city, river, architecture, etc. Couldn't make it...my passport renewal came in too late! :(

Me too!!....as for work....well,...i,m retired so that side of it would,nt bother me.....I,ve travelled the length and breadth of Germany...and Bayern is my favourite state,..Wurzburg is twinned with my home town....the summers over there are very good....unlike here....i know more about Germany...than i do Scotland....in the past 15 years Avril and I have went there for our holidays,...we tour.by car......as Avril has Meniere,s Disease....which prevents her from flying...we normally spend around 3 weeks...each year...visiting friends,

Mainz....i know it well,.....Paris....i hope your not thinking of driving in Paris.....its a nuthouse...when it comes to driving,especially....at the Arc de Triumphe...i like the Arch at La Defense..that,s the big white tiled concrete arch that you can see.when you are at the arc de triumphe......the Metro..is the easiest way of getting around....

So lucky. That's what nice about Europe. You can travel country to country. Here is state to state, which is just as interesting in some way I guess.

I lived in Mainz for a year. Some cool buildngs, but the vast majority of it was leveled in WWII, so not as charming as some.
