Title: Appx. Value of W.G. & Co Limoges Box with Portrait?
Post by: hharken15 on June 12, 2013, 07:57:08 AM
We had a house fire a few days ago, and unfortunately my grandmother's beautiful blue Limoges vanity box was one of the casualties. Luckily the lid was preserved. I'm hoping that someone out there can help me find a resource to find an approximate value for the box. A link to a website that might support this claim would be helpful for insurance purposes. Perhaps finding a similar box, or a box made at a similar time, would be helpful. Thank you!

Assuming it is Guerin Limoges ( i'd expect something a little finer from them but still...) then you could probably buy one similar for around $100 retail.

Sorry about the fire! Sounds awful.

Maybe $100-$200 over here in the U.S. Check e-bay, etc.
