I found these small terra cotta squirrels and was wondering what they might be. I was told they could be pie vents but because there aren't any vents on the bottom they weren't 100% sure.
They are 3" high and about 2" in diameter

Would need to be open / Vented at the top to be pie vent. I only see an opening in the bottom.

Looks like a souvenier from a visit to a pottery !!

Garden decor maybe?

I found them! You are missing one squirrel. They are designed to be feet for a terracotta pot. Here is the frog version, made by the same company:

Yepper...beat me to it Talesof! Love these novelties!!!
I also love the TerraCotta brown sugar keepers!!!
-
Ohhh KC I have not seen those do they help keep the brown sugar from getting hard? I use a piece of bread for that.

Looks like children playing with moulds to me ;D
How would they be feet for a pot ?
-
The heads are level and those large terra Cotta flower pots sit on them !!
-
nah, that would never work....better sticking the pot on 3 half bricks....can you imagine trying to balance a big pot full of earth with a plant in it..on the heads of 3 wee squirrels....then the cat/dog comes along and cocks its leg...or brushes up against it....recipe for disaster..if you ask me....the Ip man got it right i think..... :D
-
I think the pot would be on the tails of the squirrels !! Wouldn`t work here either with three dogs 60lbs+ !!
-
Yep, on the tails of the squirrels! Just search "terracotta pot feet" and you will see sooooo many!
wendy177, yes it works so much better than bread. I used bread for years and then was given a terra cotta bear and have used it ever since. Just search "brown sugar terra cotta saver" and you will sooooooooooooooo many styles! You soak the terra cotta piece in water for a while to saturate, dry as well as possible and then place it in the container!!!
-
Never thought about that !! Not sure if I have seen one !! Brown sugar doesn`t usually last long enough around here to get hard !! I bake quite a bit !! Any that happens to get hard I just microwave for a few seconds !!
