The William & Mary ball feet (18th century), the geometric bottom drawer fronts(17th century), ditto the case sides and finally, the crown molding which does not match any of the earlier styles.

Naturally, this is all a guess as it is nearly impossible to authenticate old furniture with photo's alone.

the dimension from the hole cabinet is High - 180.5 cm.wide - 176 cm.dept 64.5 cm.

i go this evening make pictures from the details.

Post by: mart on July 07, 2013, 10:41:54 AM: Pretty modern round head screws holding the lock mech. but I see it has been removed and reset at some point !! Need to see the dovetails that are on the drawers. And if no screws or nails,, show how the joinery was done !!

are you aware what a dovetail is.....its a joint...and if these drawers do not have dovetails..then you could be looking at a cheap end copy...take a pic of the drawer joint...i.e. where the side meets the front....if its a butt joint...then ...don,t think about taking anytime off work.... ;D

Post by: bigwull on July 07, 2013, 12:45:08 PM: looking at the drawer ...although i can,t see the side....from the top edge...this looks like a butt joint....and as the Texas Belle...has said those round heads..look new...so new in fact..that its making me...agree with the Ip man.....and thats very unWullie ..for me.... ;D....it must be this unseasonable weather thats doing it....74deg.f ...again today.....if this keeps up..i,ll soon be a shadow of my former self.... ;D

Nice patina.....you want to stay off the sauce....thats not patina....thats what scrap wood looks like....just look at the outside of the cabinet....thats nice....but for it to have this crap drawer lining...well....th ats where mutton dressed as lamb comes in....

maybe you should try some broon sauce then....or get some of the sauce that G,acre,s...always on.... ;D...or maybe this stuff....its guaranteed to give you good movement..... ;D
