We picked up this piece of widdicomb furniture at an estate sale yesterday. Can anyone guess on the actual age and value? Based on the logo inside a drawer, we are guessing it to be before 1930. Any ideas?

Need more photos.
This type of furniture wad common in the 1940s and 50s.

Here is another photo

Here is the logo inside the drawer. From what we read, they used this swirlyogo between 1900 and 1930. But who knows.
-
Ugh..swirly logo. Sorry about the typos.
-
Yep, a little research indicates that they quit using that logo in 1938. After that they stopped making revival styles.
-
Now to figure out the value of it...not that it really matters. I know it is more than the $25 we paid for it though. Lol
-
What I read indicates they still made revival in the early 1940s but all the pieces were give a paper label bearing the name of John Widdecomb as the designer. This supports what Ghopper is saying. The pieces are considered high quality furniture. That was a good find. 25.00 was a steal.

The desk should bring $150-$200.

Sounds about right to me. If it were new it would be five times that and not made as well. That has always been a pet peeve of mine.
-
About right price !! Here would be upper end of that amount !!
-
just don,t bring it to this sided of the pond....cos if you did...you might not get back your original investment...

Actually, it's a queen anne style dressing table, usually referred to here as a lowboy.
