Title: Brass Jar with writing inside...

Hubby found this at a thrift store...have been looking all over the internet trying to find some information on it and have had no luck...hoping someone here can lead me on the right direction...would really appreciate it.

looks like something to do with the occult...thats signature on the bottom resembles a bat...and the interior...welll, ..lets just say....don,t go dropping fresh chicken blood in it.... ;D

Is there anyone else who might have any suggestions other than cult related.  ;)

Looks to be middle eastern !!
Found several bowls with interior engraving on ebay !! One made similar to yours was from a north African tribe but without the inside work, others were engraved on the inside but no lid and they were all Islamic design and I think yours possibly is too !!  Also found a book with Islamic designs for handcrafts that could be used for this !!  This bowl could be from India, Pakistan or anywhere in the middle east !! Most were just listed as storage bowls !!  Yours is much better condition than those I saw !! Value on the one made like yours but no inside engraving was $149. UK !! Others were listed at about $50. but no lid !! Of course what they list at and what they actually sell at are two different things !!

Looks like Sanscrit to me , but it sure is tremendously fancy , if intended for a yati-patra (an ascetic's bowl) !!!
