Title: How to tell the difference between wood vs resin material on chairs

I find it difficult when looking online to determine whether or not the carved backs on chairs are actually wood or made of resin materials. I was duped once before and could really use some help! Thank you

Can you post a pic of the chair you are talking about ??  Sometimes appliques are used that are molded wood/resin mixtures !!  But they are pretty easy to see !!
