Hello,
I am trying to price this centerpiece bowl for my mother in law. It was her Aunt's, They have no idea how or when it was bought. Anything will help, I cannot find anything about it. Thank you for your time :)

Looking closely at the detail i would say this is not Doulton. It's too uneven, too rough ( wobbly lines and inconsistent ). The extra Arabic type mark is odd.
If you want to confirm with them , their website is under construction. Alternatively, send these the images

Must admit it's a strange thing !

Thank you :) I will try that. It is strange, Ive found plates that look like it and a vase, but other than that this thing is very mysterious
-
What was the vase ? Do you have a link ?
-
Here are the plates, I wold have to search for the vase pictures again. (http://www.coylesauction.com/images/Year2004/041304/royal%20doulton%20ship%20plates.jpg)

any ideas?

What is the name of this pattern ?? I looked yesterday and found nothing that matches !! Also please take a better pic of the marks and post it upright ?? Couldn`t see the others well !!

any ideas?
Difference in quality there is huge though.
I've never seen such poor transfer on Royal Doulton as that bowl.
Look here

The last two are similar. Both have an almost flow blue feel to them but the decoration is rough, uneven.
The first result - finer detail, finer shape of handle and jug but similar.
Then look at the result of the three sold together. More colourful, finer quality, much better mark to the base. If you look at your bowl those fish heads or sea creatures heads that form the design of the inner ring...they look like a child has drawn an elephant head.
In my opinion, the one you've pictured and the three results on that link sold in the US are not Doulton but a copied design.
I just wouldn't catalogue that piece you've photographed as proper Doulton - be it Royal or Burslem. However, if there are other collectors out there that are happy with them...

Better picture quality would help !!

I will try to take better pictures, in person the lines and details are very good. I just took quick pictures in horrible lighting on a not so good camera phone. I will post some better ones in a couple days

Excellent !! That will help !!
