Title: interesting/ ugly? vase
Post by: myracles103 on July 31, 2013, 12:33:35 PM
I've tried researching the symbols on the bottom of this small vase I found in a thrift shop, to no avail. I think it's a pretty ugly piece, but uniquely decorated to say the least.

I'm not sure it is NA, the A doesn't look like one when it's blown up.

Looks like a modern logo...possibly an import item...but possible just made with this logo to give the sense of an older and Asian made item.

Yes, it is definitely hand painted, but doesn't seem like the artist was overly conscientious of their work. The paterns are strange and he/she had trouble painting in the lines. Just seems so unique to me that I thought it was worth a little research. Thank you so much to all of you for all of your help. I thought it looked either dutch or greek (not the letters necessarily), but I am an amateur at this point.
