I recently found a few interesting items inc a Japanese Wooden Kobe doll at my grandmothers house.
I have found a few other Chinese & Japanese items but I'm not sure if they are all the same age as the doll?

This just says on the bottom "made in Japan" but no maker name..

This Majhong set says made in China and is 1900/1910 I think...

Yes, all early mid 20th century

Then one with moriage decoration ( that beaded, raised enamel type decoration is called moriage ), probably 40's. Best thing there is probably the mahjong set.

Your mahjong set is 1920s and worth about $400 if you have all the tiles. You have bone tiles, probably with bamboo backs that are not visible in the photo. Your set was made for the western market because it has regular numbers on the tiles and your wind tiles may also be marked N, S, E and W for north, south, east and west. This is a GREAT site for identification of your set. I have one of these and I love to play mahjong solitaire on it.

what its worth over there is a far cry from what it may be worth over here...and as that is where it is...i think she,ll do well if she gets her starting price....from personal experience..i,d have to say,that the starting price is way too high..and it will frighten off bidders more than attract them....

Catalogued a few of these for auction. Some of the better types like this have characters on the doors.
Case looks in good condition so if complete, £200 is achievable.
I think interest in these sets has actually increased in recent years. Might have picked this up for £60 a few years ago.

My Dad said he would give me £100 for the table but I don't know how to describe it for a search for a price...
He said it was called a campaign table but I don't think it is.

yes Mart is on superslow dial up....as for your old da offering you a £100 for your table....well under any other circumstance...i,d say..bite his hand off....but as he,s yer da....surprise him on his birthday.... ;D

Yeah, you aint going to get more than that from someone else !!
By the way, for future reference, those circular characters carved near the base are Shou, often seen on marriage gifts and such. Very common to see them on ginger jars and vases. It's for longevity, good health and all that. You'll sometimes see carvings of a smiling old man with a long staff, sometimes a peach in one hand. This is Shou Lao, the god of long life.
These tables are quite common and yours is not particularly old.

Here in the SF Bay Area they get about $400 retail. I've seen several priced in this range and there is currently one up on Ebay. The figures on the door panel help and what helps even more is if you have unusual figures on your tiles. These are my scholar tiles. You don't see them too often! Usually these are seasons or flower types.

Pretty good site about the tiles Talesof! Thanks for sharing!!! I have been looking for a good Mahjong set for a couple of months. Now might invest a little more for an older set than a newer one!
