we,ll need pics of the movement....looks like a mantle clock, that is missing the garnitures...also looks like it may be made of alabaster....
-
At 1st sight I thought it looked like marble.
-
on the movement is a number 97092 with T

You see the circular mark, lower centre ? Need a clearer image of that, please.
Could be Marti & Cie / Marti & Company.
Actually, after downloading the image, zooming and clearing it up, i think it's Japy Freres' Medaille d'Honneur mark.
-
Is this a reproduction Ipcress ?? I don`t see quality here ??

My eyes aren't that good...but, I would agree with Ipcress with it being a Japy Brothers.

I believe the exposed "count wheel" on the back plate was used on their pre 1880 movements.

Well spotted Ipcress, here is a similar one (Lot 29), although yours is a little more attractive. And, yes, probably part of a garniture.

Is it working?
-
yes it is working, but i go make it clean an new clock oil
-
Seems there is a bit of a problem with the front foot, be very careful if you are planning to secure it back in place.
I presume that you will be using a proper clock/watch lubricant?
-
i use for the warmink clocks KOCH 3
-
Sounds like you know what you're doing. I've never heard of KOCH, but I imagine 3 is a medium viscocity

I'd say it was a more standard version of a more expensive clock.
Middle band would be this garniture

Top end, with the case and garniture made for Tiffany

Movement and dial will be similar, just the case and decoration affecting the price.
Japy Frere are quite common. Henri Jacot is another that is quite popular and can sometimes be identified by the parrot mark on the backplate.

Thanks !! Was looking at the metal work and it looked rather rough and not well done !! But then,, clocks are not my area !!
-
so the clock is maiby pre 1900?
the marble need a little restauration, crazing, but how I'm gonna do that I must see
-
Marble can be resurfaced to bring out the shine again and smooth it !! Just google "marble restoration" and see if there is something that might help you !! Its usually just a sanding and sealing !!
-
ok thx all
-
Could it be alabaster ?
-
sorry i dont no,for me its like marble
-
Could it be alabaster ?
you missed the boat..... ;D
-
;D
Sometimes when i'm multi-tasking and very busy, read the first post and skip some....
Does look more like alabaster
-
is the price from this clock about 250 usd?
-
There were probably originally three pieces, and the garnitures have probably been separated from the clock over the years. If this is the case then the value will be decreased. Value is what it will fetch on the day at Auction; if you look at this one, had an estimate of $150 - $200 but only reached the lower estimate.
