Title: Russian Border Guard pocket watch....

A friend of mine got this from...a guy at the local recycling centre....it was about to be dumped along with a lot of other bits & bobs....the story behind it was...it was traded for a 200 pack of fags...at Checkpoint Charlie...in Berlin..in 1967.....

Beautiful piece Wullie!  I got several items when I was there on the many trips....but this is a real beauty!!!!

My wife still makes Reference to her parents' lives under the Germans in the War of '41 - '45 .. . and I have to constantly remind her that it was actually '39 - '45    ......    Remind me ... when did our cousins from across the Pond join in??    ;D
