The Sweet springs to mind (they'll be vintage in another 10 years or so, therefore almost qualify for discussion here!!), but the album? Sweet Fanny Adams? Did they have a song called 'the sweet shop'?

your first part....is a bit pie in the sky.....but the second part....has part of the album.... ;D....its obvious you did,nt check out Douglas adams....now i,m going to give you a monumental clue...and if you don,t get at least the group...then..i,m afraid....there is no hope for you.....here,s the clue...think of a colour that goes with whats at the bottom of Douglas Adams garden...there i,ve said it......if ghopper comes on now he,ll surely get it.....if he does,nt then i,m going to eat my ...hat.... ;D

OK ... "sweeties" ... I was never into Pink Fairies, although I'm pretty certain that I saw them once, I think it was at one of the all-nighter/weekend events that they used to hold at the Lyceum, and I recall Stone the Crows at roughly the same time ... but it was so long ago I'm probably wrong!
The Douglas Adams link was lost on me. I know he wrote HHGTTG, and I know his Biography was called 'Wish you were here' (in the sweet shop ;D ), but that's about it
