Here's one I know almost nothing about. I just had a client hand me a bunch of stuff to sell for his daughter, and these book ends were included. All the information that I was given was that they are "true antiques". That's it. Any idea on age and/or location of origin? They are each 3 7/8" tall and 4 5/8" wide at the widest point.

without any marks...they could have come from anywhere....they are quite small...what is the width of the foot...have they been painted...as the detail looks to be...quite rough ..they remind me of a grave stone....

That was kind of what I assumed to be the age. No marks make this tricky at best to figure out much else on them. The foot width is 4 5/8" wide, and they were painted at some point. No idea when, but the paint is old as well.

I think these small ones were intended for use at a desk rather than a bookcase !! Look at the center figure and see if you can tell what it is ??

It appears to be a woman at a sewing machine.

Have you tried a magnet on them?

Rauville, you win at the internet! I stand corrected...they are cast after all.
