Wow! OK...I know something is only worth what someone will pay. :o
I ran across an item similar to one I have sitting out in the shed. Mine is covered with paint...and a blanket. Maybe I'd be better to move it outside, and let it acquire a rust patina. ???

i,ll keep it on a watch for a year or two.... ;D

I would age it if I was wanting to sell it and this one sells well.
However, there are those that would pay well to have original condition!!! But if in pristine condition, people (not saying who - because it would most likely be some of us) would scrutinize whether it is original or repro! :)
-
This was originally painted !! You have the same identical one with original paint ?? With CASE on it ?? The one you posted has 7 offers !! Need to see yours !! If its in original condition your payday could be better that the one you posted although I don`t think its worth quite that amount !!

The all important question is....how many factories were there for this company...and if more than one did each have an eagle atop the building....

Sadly we have a dealer up here that does that.

an unscrupulous dealer....Never!! ;D ;D
-
And surprise , surprise he calls his shop Rusty's. lol
-
Does what ?? Makes them or rusts them ??
-
He puts things in his yard and lets them rust. He then calls them antiques.

Yes, it would be the same CASE eagle. Probably a little better than the one on eBay since the that one appears to have the feet broken off the base? The problem with mine is that it has an in-use repaint from years ago. I have the original paint pattern and paint numbers from J.I. Case, but haven't taken the time to attempt to redo it. In reality, the going price for one is probably a lot less than they are asking for theirs. But maybe rust is the high dollar trend these days...who knows?

Well they are asking 15 to 16 grand for several of these that are the 60 inch. !! Not near that much for the smaller ones !! There were several sizes supplied for Case !! A few individual dealers did have them in concrete but not sure why !! Scroll down and look at a bunch for sale and a those wanting one !!

Mart;
Thanks for the link...interesting reading. Must be a popular item when they are getting stolen off a roof top.
The one I have is the 60" model.

icedgold10, going from my area (Dallas/Ft Worth) towards East Texas (Mart's neck of the woods) there are lots of places that purposely put out imports/items to rust as well.
-
LOL !! And when you get to my area,,its just a normal thing to find stuff rusting !!
Rauville, if yours still has original paint, even if worn, you should do very well if you sell !!
