Title: Price Check On old Japanese (or Chinese) Doll
Post by: smkris on October 12, 2013, 04:06:57 PM
I have this old doll that I believe is possibly porcelain or clay. It is over sixty years old, not quiet sure on age, but no less than sixty. I believe it came from Japan. Its clothes appear to be hand made and the
dolls head is attached by hook string to the rest of the body. Arms and legs appear to attached in a similar fashion.

Welcome...
These "gofun ichimatsu" dolls were a popular item with service men stationed in Japan after WWII to be brought back home for wives and girlfriends. There is always a selection offered on eBay at various price points.
