hi all
i have opportunity to buy 2 different silver coin lot,
1 lot contain Silver Rubels from the years: 1780,1814,1822,1824,1830,1835,1836,1841,1847,1851,1878, 1886,1893,1894, 1896,1897,1898,1899,1913,1921,1924 (you can see in the 2 first pictureS)
2 lot contain: 53 US silver coins: 5 cent (17), 10 cent (1), 25 cent (35) as u can see in the 2 other picture.
what u think this lots worth?
i know is hard to say from just looking at the pictures but hope u can advice me.
thanks.

The first lot should cost a small fortune ! How much are they asking ?
The grading on coins is massively important and something like the 1896 rouble could vary $80 and more depending on condition
The 1893 looks in good condition and maybe worth about $100-120 on it's own.
-
hi the first lot is the Silver Rubels they asking 600-670$ for all the Silver Rubels.
when u say "The first lot should cost a small fortune" i think u mean to the cent coin lot, did u?
and they asking about this lot 25-35$ for all the cents.
thanks.
-
I think he meant the first lot....would cost a small fortune...a small fortune in UK term ..is,nt $25/30,.for if you are getting the cents for...that amount...you should be biting the sellers hand off....not dithering...will I ..won,t I....as for the rubles...if he is correct with his valuation for 1 coin..and from his past posts he is rarely wrong....then..you should...be getting your purse out......
my own view is a little less encouraging....i,m always dubious of sellers selling...things for much less than they are worth....but that,s just me....
-
what u mean "nt $25/30" ??
thanks
-
$25/30.....is peanuts....$600...is a small fortune....that,s what he means
-
Yeah. The roubles are worth several times that estimate.
You see the second picture for the roubles ? Named " 1.jpg " ? There's a small coin on the left. Can you ask them for a better image of that coin ?
Might be a 25 kopek
* edit. I meant " better " image.
-
I would concentrate on lot 1,, don`t see much in lot 2 !!
-
hi yes there in the rubels lot also also one coin 50 Kopek, and one 25 Kopek,
good eyes :)
is kopek worth something?
and mart i am agree with u!!!
thanks.
-
50 kopek....look here

-
oh ok nice.
if i will sell each coin for this price i can make a nice profit ;P
thanks.
-
As long as you are not to greedy...and looking for the maximum..on each...then there is a good opportunity..here.. ..to make a tidy profit....which can help you finance the next deal...
-
sure not greedy!!!
how u think should i sell it as a lot or each coin for it self?
thanks.
-
oh ok nice.
if i will sell each coin for this price i can make a nice profit ;P
thanks.
Art, is this an auction or retail outlet ? $600 for that lot is a bargain.
The kopeks appear to be mid 19th. Also depends what condition the 18th century rouble is in but at $600 i'd be biting their hand off !!!
-
is auction and the starting price is 500$ so i thinking to go up to 600-670.
how much u think i should go if still i want to make a profit.
thanks
-
An Auction.....at the beginning of this topic the implication was ...you could get these at $600....but...as its an auction,....this is a different kettle of fish....everything will depend on who wants them the most...and...how much profit they will be happy with....there,s no point on going out on a limb....if the price soars past your expected budget....if you did get them for say $675...+ commission...then there is every chance you,ll still make money...but...from where i,m sitting...i think they,ll go higher....
-
Well,, at a minimum you will be investing $500. !! And may take time for you to resell them !! Just decide how much you can afford to invest and for how long !! Then set that as a limit and sit on your hands if it goes over that amount !!
-
well i have not problem with time.
but i will go up to 600-650 is mean that i will have to pay include fee 745 +-
thanks.
-
All I am saying is don`t get caught up in the auction and spend more than its worth to re-sell !! You have to figure your time to see if you profit from it !! Its not all just dollars and cents !!
-
yea u are correct
I will stay with both leg on earth ; :)
thanks
-
Excellent !!
-
hi the Auction is tomorrow and i got my eyes on 1 more lot
this lot contain: Silver coins, Germany, 1 Mark 1875, 5 Mark 1875, 2 Mark 1906, 3 Mark 1913, 1914, 1/2 Mark 1915, 1917, 3 Mark 1928, Dinkelsbuehl 3 Mark 1927, Kaiser Heinrich.
i think i will go up to 250$ include tax is will be 307$
do u think is worth it?
thanks.
-
Nice lot, though i think most of the potential value is in the Dinkelsbuhl mark. However, i prefer the Russian lot and think it's both nicer and potentially worth more in relation to it's estimate.
A few of the coins in this lot look to be in lower grades.
The Dinkelsbuhl looks slightly discoloured so i would treat it with caution or ask someone's opinion. There will be fakes around.
If the Russian lot is first, i would concentrate on that and bid a little higher than you intended to ( if you're thinking of bidding on both that and this German lot )
If this lot is first then maybe have a bid but don't go over the estimate. You can then bid more on the Russian lot.
-
I would rather have the Russian lot than the other two !!
-
HI,
well yes i also prefer the Russian lot.
and i will save the money for it. ;D
i will let u know if i won in any lot.
thanks all for helping.
-
well the rubels lot sold for 4000$ not include 19% tax ;D
-
Thought as much !!!
It did look like a very low estimate.
-
and i had a dreams to buy it ::)
thanks a lot.
-
don,t feel too downhearted....many of us have been there.....
-
YEP that truth,if we think about it i save my 800$ :)
-
Sorry Artx !! Yep !! Been there,,done that !!
