I have googled, looked through eBay active and sold items, referenced my Kovels book, and can't find anything. I have looked at 2 pieces on eBay with the Onway mark, but the sellers don't have any info in their listing. Does anyone know about this company?

Turning the picture right side up would be helpful. It's 50's or 60's crackle glaze.
-
Thats strange...I dont why it is upside down!
-
If I click on the picture to view it, then it is right side up. Guess I'm messing something up.
-
Here is the whole bowl.
-
Both pics are still upside down for me. Guess it may be a matter of perspective. haha. Pretty bowl. It is def a mid-century import.

That appears to be a stamp added after the crazing occurred !! Found no China mfrs or import company with that name !! Only thing with that name is a resort in New Hampshire !! Onway Family Resort !! There is a lake there called Onway Lake !! Could be that some of the restaurants or businesses stamped china items as tourist items for sale or were used in some way in that area !!

It looks like it was painted on...it is definitely over the glaze. The bottom part of the "y" is missing.

I couldn`t find a mfr anywhere that used that mark !!
-
It does look more like a retailers mark that has been applied later, with maybe the number referring to stock etc
Don't think it affects value that much as everything i've seen looks late 19th / very early 20th.
Could it be a US retailer or company that has imported European porcelain ?
-
Debolt's dictionary lists it as circa 1900, bt no other informaton.

Thanks guys! At least I have an idea of its date now! ;D

I am wondering if its a stylized mark for Conway Department Stores !! They have been around a while !! Maybe a design that was wrong to start with so it was not used but a short time !! Can`t find but a few pieces online !!
-
This is just a guess. But if I saw this bowl in a thrift store I would immediately assume it was from the Ohio area.

And the reason for that sandfisher ?? Might help the rest of us to know !!

Here is a new listing on Ebay with the Onway mark. Again, no info.

Just going by the style, the colors and also how the bottom looks. When going through items the bottom of a piece of pottery seems to say alot just by its' style. And the bottom with its' crackle on that piece would seem reminiscent of Ohio types. At least to me.
