Hi - my father has passed me these 2 whisky jars / decanters which his parents were given as a gift and I was wondering what this sort of thing is worth?
The silver hallmarks are slightly different on each jar although we think they are a pair. They roughly measure 11cmW x 20cmH x 7cmD.
It is believed that these 2 jars were given as a gift to a couple who worked in the household of Princess Alice as a parting gift by their employers. They were then passed on as a thank you to my fathers parents.
Any help or guidance would be much appreciated.

on the right hand decanter...the silver top looks like it has a little dink....or is it just a trick of the light....

As these are from Asprey.of London...formed in 1781....the name itself is synonomous...with class...can you be a bit more specific...regardin g..Princess Alice....?...which one...as there were 4...and it will depend on what time frame you are talking about...in order to try and find the right one....the reason being...if you had a link to which one..then..it could affect the value....there was Princess Alice of Battenberg...B.1885 D.1969
then Princess Alice.of Athlone,B.1883 D.1981 then Princess Alice..Duchess of Gloucester..B.1901 D.2004....then Princess Alice of Hesse..2nd daughter of Queen Victoria..but i think i can discount her...as she popped her clogs way back...
