Title: Pewter jug made in ?

have this nice pewter jug and would like to find if it's old and made where ? The marks looks to as a standing lion and is two times made on the bottom . Jug looks cleaned to me by the previous owner .

My initial reaction was that it appears poorly made and the touchmarks look like a pseudo or spurious Wigan mark. Might just be a Benelux ewer and the rampant lion is often seen on metalware from those countries.

tell them it's a family item and not for sale, that you're just curious about the mark.
