Title: Pretty Milk Glass Plate
Post by: aDawn on October 27, 2013, 08:28:49 PM
Hi all.

I'm wondering if anyone has an idea on the maker of this plate? It's older milk glass, raised design and open lace edge. No mark on the bottom. The internet hasn't been much help as "lace edge milk glass" just brings up oodles of the plain Hazel Atlas and Fire King plates.

Also wondering if anyone has a recommendation on a good collector's guide for milk glass.

Thanks!

Whoops. Measures 7 inches wide and 4 1/2 inch wide at the base.

Your plate was produced by Kemple glass during the 1940s, It is called a Panel Peg Open edge plate. They made many with decals in the center but I love yours with the beautiful swirl center!!  Many of the best collector's guides for Milk Glass were written by Betty & Bill Newbound in my opinion. Your plate is lovely and I would hang it on a wall to display it!!!

Thanks so much, Wendy! I'll have to get one of their books, too.

Thanks again! :)
