Do both those 'tubes' on the top swivel?  What is the height........compr essed and extended?

I'm getting a portable music stand vibe......minus the 'plate' that would hold the sheet music and possibly have posts that would slide into those tubes.

Contruction methods (close up of screws, etc) as well as a view of the underside may help some here to date it.......whatever it is ;)

Something along the lines of this perhaps...........

If you look at the background items in closeup just posted it is smaller than the original ones seem.

Is this a tabletop stand?  Please list height fully extended!!  Thanks!

Is there any "threading: inside the two top pieces?  They look like candle/taper holders from shape/form.

Don`t think that's what it is Greenacres !! Has the look of early 1900`s !!  What is that pin for ?? Do the top parts rotate or move !! It looks to be on a countertop,, how tall is it as-is ??

Rotated , hopefully be a little easier to see

Mart, I first thought that thing you called a pin was a page turner (flat spatula shaped with a handle). Zooming in though it is a cylinder shape, looks possibly solid with a handle and maybe some sort of shaft/pin through to the bottom

It fits in somewhere I assume !! But where ?? The only place I can see is at the top !! I think the top pieces rotate but not sure,, figured I would ask !! Kind of helps if we get all the details before we wrack our brains figuring it out !!  Wonder where Rauville is with his big book ???  ;D

It might be a flag or banner stand/

It's the individually adjustable sockets at the top that are confusing me - you'd expect one singular adjustment

Maybe it's just design flaw.

LOL!!....I have it on good authority...that..R auville ..no longer has that big book wedged between the cheeks of his arse...I think he took my advice...and updated to a Memory Stick...as he was apparently becoming cross eyed...as nothing could get passed that damned book... ;D
