I got this a while ago...it was part of a job lot from the auction house, its made of copper and brass,it measures 4in long x 3/4in dia the bottom screws off to reveal what looks like a little spoon...i,m thinking its got something to do with,guns,..as it looks like a large shell when standing...
-
Just thinking that it looks like something a pipe smoker would be using. A tamper and reamer in a manly package. :D
-
You of all people....humbug!!.... ;D....there was a residue of oil in it...not cannibals raisin oil either..
-
Don`t know what oil would be used for with guns !! Or shells/bullets !!

Well you should know..what with having 15 or so guns lying about your house...what do you use to clean your guns.."washing up liquid perhaps" ;D...and what do you put on them after they,ve maybe been out in the rain...cos, i do know that guns can rust quite easily..and as you will know..a rusty gun could get you into deep trouble...if it did,nt perform when you most needed it,...so i found this at a Walmart near you...Now I wonder what this can be used for... ;D.

;D ;D ;D "Annie get your guns"! Her guns against your cannons! ;D

Guns will rust quicker with that stuff than they ever would if just wiped off !! Your fingerprints will rust a gun !! I would not touch these guns with it !! It collects dirt/dust and doesn`t allow moisture to evaporate especially in a humid area !!
Can`t see that flickr link !!

She can have a pair of my latest creations..Boom ,Boom!!

There you go again..not looking where you,re going, had you read the post where i posted the link pic..you,d have seen what my object is,..an oil container,..for oiling the moving parts of guns...so that they don,t seize up ...furthermore whilst out searching..i came upon a pair of guns, valued at £10,000...and...they came with a gun cleaning kit...that had a little container of oil....so...i,m thinking...Mart must have the only oil free guns on the planet....

This Trench Art,oil container was made to fit into the butt of a Lee-Enfield rifle...

May have needed it for those old bolt action rifles !! Used to buy those old Enfield 303`s for $20. !! Back before the U.S went nuts !! Good deer rifles but a bit heavy if not customized !!
-
Whoa I'm impressed. You really know your guns. Are you Annie Oakly reincarnated? ;D
-
Not hardly !! Just been around a few !! Married a military man, used to hunt a bit myself !! Did quite well at the local turkey shoots (not live turkeys,,frozen ones) used regular targets !! My Dad used to throw tin cans in the air and we would shoot at them !!

It’s always a good idea to “wipe” your guns off, after using them, with a small piece of cloth (2” by 2”) with oil on it, including the forearm and stock.
And then if you fold that piece of cloth and twist the center of it unto a point and just barely stick the pointy end into the end of the barrel of your long-guns it will insure nothing gets into the barrel and will also prevent any moisture laden air from circulating thru the barrel.
Some people keep a long-gun in their garage or barn …… and iffen they live in Mud Mason or Mud Dauber country …… then those fellows will likely build an egg nest in the barrel of that gun. They are noted for “blocking” the exhaust ports of lawnmowers, string trimmers, etc. and it has to be removed before it will run.

Those Mud Daubers drive me nuts.
Believe it or not the other day I had a can of wasp/hornet spray sitting out on a slatted bench in the back yard and went and picked it up....those doggone mud daubers had built a nest on the bottom of the can (the bottom is concave and was positioned above the open space between slats). I had to laugh...kind of hard to spray them when it is on the bottom of the can!
Cogar, even on airplanes here they have to block tubes when a plane is not flown daily. Those suckers will even block the air speed tubes and cause major problems (if not crashes) due to faulty air speeds!
