Title: Collectible galvanized toolbox?
Post by: chiefdog on November 12, 2013, 09:01:24 AM
I bought this at a garage sale for $1 because I absolutely loved the colors and just thought it was cool.  I've looked online and I see some of these at $100 and some are worth nothing.  How do I determine the value of mine?

The inside is just a box - no insert or anything.  Just a couple a metal pieces sticking out (two random rods).

If you had the motorized drain cleaner that went in it you might get $150. if it worked well !!  As far as just the box it came in,,Maybe $30. !!  They still make the power drain cleaner !!

I still have my little galvanized toolbox that a Great Uncle made for me back in the 1940's when he worked at Boeing. I value mine high, but the market would think much differently.

This little box would be an easy sell with the label but drain cleaners would not be at the top of most lists,,,unless you are a plumber !!
