Would need to see some marks, Artx. The dial is marked and the base should be, too. Closer image of the dial and base

Lots of dodgy copies / fakes like this about.

i,d say there was a very good chance that there was more of them...and that ad on ebay...is to draw unsuspecting buyers..as for the ."Free Postage"...that,s a carrot....

Private listing, no mention of the marks, no idea who the offers were from...

What are the chances of two being offered at the same time and almost identical ??

Exactly.

The other question - does it look Russian ? Aside from the obvious Faberge / Egg thing, it looks poorly made and monotone for a country which prided itself on use of colour and attention to detail.

Read the feedback.  They are crooks.  Items never received and they bought most of their own items to boost feedback.  Two buyers left several feedback repeatedly.  All good of course.  How do people like that stay on there?

As much as I love Russia, Russian items, etc...  I have seen (more often than not) so many of the items touted from Russia are troublesome.  The "free shipping"????  Like the others said....better to steer clear.

I am now stepping on my soap box...I am so tired of people using the word "rare" on their items for sale.  It just takes the cake when you have 3 to 4 identicals for sale at the same time of an item and all say they are rare!   :O
Stepping off....

In all my travels to Russia I would see quite unique items attempting to replicate the "look" of the faberge eggs...and this is a perfect example of that.  I have seen quite a few of good quality that are made wonderfully made but you would need a hands on to appreciate that.

It was the same for me when I travelled to the Ukraine in 2005...there, were .Faberge Egg trinket boxes being touted at markets..as the genuine article...and they were so poorly made that even a blind man could tell that they were fake ...and, there was many other things, like the wooden dolls within dolls,.....and the odd thing was, they would,nt accept the local currency..everythin g was priced in US dollars....

A little Russian Humor.... Why don't people enjoy being around Mamatryoshkas very long?  Because they are full of themselves!  :/
