To put it in perspective....9/11...was global....well, JFK...the same....but on a lesser scale due to the fact that not everyone in Scotland had a TV...but it was in the news fopr days,....Flags were flown from civic buildings at half mast,..and we were all expecting WW111..to start.....

I live (literally) between Dallas/Fort Worth and the past month has been remembering/mourning this event.  Conspiracy authors, papers, events have been going on for awhile.  Most of downtown (roads) were closed down yesterday/today and security has been extremely high for the past 3 days and is expected to be so through the weekend.  You had to get tickets if you actually wanted to be a Dealy Plaza area today - they were free but only 5,000 were distributed.  Interesting part is it is 33°F and raining - sleet is in Fort Worth headed our way.  Expecting hail and icy roads tonight.

I was in 1st Grade and remember the day well - even tho I wasn't living in Texas.  I remember we were home from school that day and watching the day unfold on our Black/White tv as well.

I wasn't even an itch in my dads trousers.

Studied it at school though. The impact shot to the head in the Zapruder film is just horrific. Still one of the most disturbing things i've ever seen.

the fact a few texans are on the forum lead me to ask....I hadn't heard of the shame dallas had as a city but I guess it makes sense.....

imagine that area is busy every day, but today its like it happened yesterday as far as the news...hard for me to imagine people are there every day and its just another day of course

I would say some shame...but more disbelief, horror and frustration...even to this day.  People here are still mourning to this day!!!  Mixed with mistrust..on "what really did happen".  But over all...the feeling here is grief...and that the country changed radically after this time in history.

The family is cursed they say. Such tragedies. Robert, JFK, JFK jr. Either they died tragic deaths or were in the news for legal issues. Senator Kennedy nude on the beach or as recent as Michael Skakel being released.

somehow auto correct got in there, meant to say family but truth be told a lot of the kennedy family behavior  left a lot to be desired, yet I agree they are certainly iconic and interesting people
