Hey guys,
Found this really neat bowl today but can't quite figure out if it is Japanese or Chinese. My gut says Japanese because of the design but I have never ran across anything that looks like this. If anyone has any knowledge of the design or origin, I would love to hear it. Thanks for all of the help and insight.

We have trouble with some British antiques.
Known plenty of Chinese buyers who don't know about Oriental porcelain. They also have difficulty reading the older languages / text.
Hopefully the new guy knows his onions.

Can't see any Chinese word there.
If you are sure it is either Japanese or Chinese, then I guess it is Japanese.

He is not sure of either !! Doesn`t look like either to me !! Or poor imitation !! But like I said,, it isn`t my area !!

Could be neither. It's poor quality, not very old.

If you look at the mark you see that the Japanese Rising Sun is in the mark . So Japanese but transfer printed so not very old I think .

Looks like what I can go buy at the asian stores in my area. Doesn't look old and like a "every day" useful item.
