bought this today as l laughs every time I look at it.
Looks like a sniff bottle or a perfume bottle.
Anyone can guess what kind of bone it is and the age?

If you search "antique bone snuff bottle" on ETSY you will find a few!

Betting Ox as well.  That was the most common.  However, if it was Tibetan it would most likely be Yak.

fancypants, have never seen a snuff bottle made from oosik!  Have seen lots of items made from walrus...even a cribbage board!!

I would say Japanese. Based on a book I have with art like this.
