Being a painter is the reason i picked them up because i actually enjoy them. But looking at them i was curious to see who made them. I cant make out the name and these are small prints framed and numbered. Just curious if someone knows the name on them. Thanks again

What is your location ?? Is there a title on them ?? Where did you buy them ?? Do you know what the buildings are ?? I don`t recognize them !!
-
Im in new jersey, found at a thrift store that sells lots of donated items and they also get inventory from charity and other channels im sure, . I dont know about the buildings in the pictures and they are not titled. All i see is a signature on the bottom. I am still trying to figure out that signature :-\

i checked one if i look close it's a clock tower to the right

What I am thinking is they are places in the UK rather than here in U.S. !! Maybe Ipcress or Bigwull will recognize them !! The first name looks like Jon or Jan,, have tried many combinations on the last name but found nothing yet !! Can`t really tell what the letters are !!
-
i was thinking the same, searching currently for clock towers in the euro area. Jon john or jan is what i think as well. The last name is a mystery

Bumping this up so maybe our UK members will take a look !!

39/100...19/100...is most likely...the amount printed, the way that the 1 is done is not the UK way, this is East European...

Do you recognize the artist name or know of any similar !! That's a bit out of my area !!

You,re right there Mart....Prague....i s not the Boonies..... ;D

wow! those images look pretty much the same. Thank you all for helping to narrow it down to that area, i hope to figure out who actually made the prints.

Have you checked the back or area behind the mat or frame ?? There is a chance the whoever the publisher of the prints is will have their info written somewhere !!

When i first saw the sig i thought it was Jan something. Maybe Jan Valt.
With Wullie's excellent help we've identified the place as Prague, the church of St Francis Seraphinus.
There is indeed a Czech artist called Jan Valt but he's technique is very different. However, he was born in the 1950's and these are certainly 20th century. Etchings are usually regarded as 19th century or ' old world ' art but these are modern. Often sold in tourist places and capital cities. If they are Jan Valt's then maybe he started selling these but changed direction once he began to paint more....it does happen.
Obviously that could be barking up the wrong tree ;D

wow ok jan valt, Thats helpful info . I did remove the backing and no markings on the paper or around it. The only thing on the back are two small pieces of old tape holding the image in place.

Bigwull is right about it being European. Jan is a male name and is European. I have a friend named Jan whose parents are from Latvia.
