I know enough about it to know nothing at all.... Any clues on age or where it is from or anything?

How big ??
-
sorry for no scale I do not have the item in hand but a little larger then a pack of cigarettes.. I am assuming it is a cigarette case
-
That is what I would assume from the interior !! The metal bands inside kept them upright !! Where did you get it ?? Or is it yours ??
-
I just find things here and there at auctions, clear outs, things of that nature and yes it is mine but I left it at my brothers place for now I can get more pictures later if needed. I just figured someone who knows a ton about military (which I am assuming it is) would know a little more about time frame.
-
It would probably date sometime after 1924. That's when the crossed 1795 Springfield Muskets were approved for the Infantry Insignia.

I knew I could count on you guys! That is quite the specifics... you thinking wwII time frame?

There ya` go ~~ Rauville to the rescue !!
-
I am going to go with that because that seems to make the most sense to me. Thanks guys!

I would actually put it pre-ww2, after 1924 as Rauville said.

Many a soldier in WWI and WWII had their lives saved by carrying these in their pockets...bullets would hit this and save their lives!! :)

I have heard of several instances like that too KC !!
