Title: Antique Fishing Floats
Post by: sandfisher on December 10, 2013, 09:00:38 PM

I bought these 3 pieces of glass for $5 total.
They looked like antique fishing floats, but I have never ID these before. But I think they are.

3 -3 1/2 inches high  or
10 , 10 1/2 , and 11 inches around

And not perfect spheres.

Anybody have any knowledge on this or can confirm these as antique fishing floats?

This site might help you

I know some, but would have to have a hands on to tell if it is new or old.  Many repros made because it is a highly collectible item!

They could be glass target balls which are very collectible, Bogardus is a big name in that field

They look like fishing floats (net floats) to me. I have no idea if they are old or not. I have a reproduction of one that looks old. The only reason I know mine isn't because the person I bought it from told me where they bought it locally.
